Surprise Arrival

I guess that my girls thought that my last posting was a challenge...

About 5 hours after posting that I was a little board waiting around for our scheduled c-section date, I woke up in the middle of the night and my water had broke. We headed to the hospital, were checked in, and 4 hours later got to meet our precious little girls. Kiersten Treacy was born at 6:14 AM, weighing in at 5 lbs 6 oz. Erin Emery was born at 6:16 AM, weighing 5 lbs 1 oz. Both girls were breathing great and after a quick check in the the operating room were able to return to our room with us for the remainder of our stay. We spent 3 days in the hospital, mostly so that I could recover from the c-section, and then were discharged to take our new little family home.

We went to see the doctor the next morning to check in because there is a little concern about the amount of weight that they have lost since they were born, about 10% of their birth weight, and now we are trying really hard to fatten them up before our follow up appointment on Friday.

The first few nights were rough... But I am excited to say that last night the girls did not wake up between feedings, which was wonderful. Right now we are on a 3 hour feeding schedule where we are trying to breast feed and then supplement with formula because they don't seem to be getting enough through just breast feeding. I worry about the day the Wayne goes back to work because I don't know how I am going to feed both babies once I am home alone.

Week 31 Ultra Sound Pics

We had our week 31 appointment today which was uneventful, just how we like it! Everything continues to look great with both myself and the babies. We were going to start going in for weekly appointments, but the doctor said that since I am doing so well, he doesn't need to see me for another 2 weeks.

Here are some pictures of our little girls.

I love how peaceful Baby A looks in this picture!

Baby B continues to be a little camera shy, but we were able to get a nice side profile of her today.

Almost 30 Week Photo

Here is an actual belly photo from 30 weeks.

We haven't been taking bare belly shots throughout our pregnancy, but tonight my husband really wanted to get at least one in :)

Things are still going great. I have had a few more aches and pains in the last week, including a charlie horse in my left calf sense Saturday. Getting around school today was tough, but I survived.

Week 29

No posting is a good thing.

I have once again not posted for 3 weeks, but really that is a good thing. I haven't had any bad news to report. I am feeling great and the babies are progressing wonderfully! We went to the doctor today and she said that everything looks super. We will head back to the doctor in 2 weeks for an ultra sound and then start having appointments every week. We have finished our birthing class and are trying to get everything ready for d-day.

Week 26 1/2

We are entering our 27th week of pregnancy and everything is going great! I feel super and the babies seem to be growing and doing well. We have another doctors appointment this Thursday and we will take our glucose test. I have been told by lots of people that I don't want to fail it, so I have been studying real hard, ha, ha, ha!

We are busily working on finishing up the nursery, maybe in the next few weeks I can post some pictures once it is done. Below are some pictures of us working hard.
